Argyle

Can I just take a moment to say how much I love these shoes? Thanks. I know I totally raved about them in my last post but that was when they were shiny and new and still had Styrofoam wedged in the toes. Last night was the monthly art walk downtown (who doesn’t like art and well dressed people gnawing on cocktail olives?). So basically I revolved my whole outfit around these shoes. So I did what I’m worst at and attempted to let the accessories do the talking. As you can see my idea of a simple, little black dress comes with multiple textures, a matching black purse, and mandatory (though I was heavily opposed to them) argyle black tights. I think the end result was a cross between Wednesday Addams and the Grimm Reaper. At least everyone was stuck looking at my shoes…

Despite their four-inch height and very heavy wooden heel, these were actually not hard to walk in. This was especially good news considering it was my first try at breaking them in, and I was walking on cobblestone roads all night. On a different, much less fashionable subject, I’m heading for my annual Writer’s Retreat this Wednesday. I’m super excited for the campfires, beaches and beautiful scenery- which I plan to photograph the entire time! I’m thinking about doing a packing post (a sort of haul) on all of the pretty shorts, sunnies and other goodies I’m bringing on the trip… thoughts?
